Oh, and it wasn't so bad: you just...Thank you!

Oh, and it wasn't so bad: you just confused the cycloptic Andre de Toth (House of Wax) with Jack Arnold, which isn't unfair, given both had big 3D hits in the early days of the technique; and in terms of Universal's 3D firsts you were thinking of It Came... (lol) rather than Creature, each honest mistakes. 3D Gen 1 lived and died so quickly that it's too easy to seem radically wrong when you're only off by one year or, as was so often the case back then, one picture!

Incidentally, I owe you some thanks for reminding me, I need to see House of Wax--and, even more importantly, I have got to see The Tingler. They make 3D for home video, but where are our Percepto! TVs? This is not the future I was promised!

Seriously, though, I'm so behind on my Vincent Price education that I may get held back a grade.Hunter Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10925220178171355473noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4633480297352890314.post-35300195189795421322014-09-08T05:08:17.066-11:002014-09-08T05:08:17.066-11:00As a (reluctantly) admitted neophyte in the world ...As a (reluctantly) admitted neophyte in the world of classic Universal horror, it's really interesting to hear your analysis of the genre as a whole, especially in comparison to their one monster that managed to escape the 50's.
I can't say I like this film quite as much as you did, but the craftsmanship is truly superb and the behind-the-scenes antics you describe really add a lot of context to my understanding, shaming my own review and its now self-evident falsehoods about Jack Arnold.
I'm loving this Cardboard Science feature!Brennanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15399713449347559869noreply@blogger.com
