I'm a sweet pennsvestite from Pennsexual Pennsylvania

No longer am I South Carolina's preeminent film critic.  I am now a resident of Pittsburgh, PA, which is so far about what I expected: murderous to run in due to the hilly terrain, effectively hotter than Columbia because these barbarians haven't discovered air conditioning technology yet, and full of the worst drivers and pedestrians I've ever seen in my whole life.  But I'll get used to it!  Meanwhile, my girlfriend is getting a sweet fully-paid doctorate at CMU, so that's rad.

So, yes, I have survived a move of many miles, but as for Internet, who can say? Service will resume with gusto soon, but until then, know that I live, and I'm finally taking that vacation I've needed for over a year, watching some pretty swell movies in the meantime.

I'll catch you on the flipside, chums.

  1. Congratulations! Now you'll have to marathon the George Romero movies, Flashdance, Pretty Woman, Silence of the Lambs, School Ties, Adventureland, Sorority Row, Zack and Miri Make a Porno, and Unstoppable, which were all filmed in Pittsburgh. Get crackin'!

I'm glad to hear you're settling in, and I hope you figure out how your shower works. I recently moved apartments, and in my experience that's always been the toughest transition.

By the way, love the post title. You'd better be watching Rocky Horror on your mini-vacation.

    1. Oh, and the 1951 movie I Was a Communist for the FBI, which sounds right up your alley.

  2. You're a good guy Ide. Although I hate Pittsburgh, I will spare you.

Good luck getting settled. I feel your pain. I'm still getting things arranged as I like them around my new home. I look forward to seeing your review of the new Fantastic Four movie. It will be glorious.
